  • Linseed stand oil with not more than 15% unsaturated organic compounds.


Unlike impregnation and hydrophobation, sealers are more effective for protecting the concrete surface by forming a film on the surface. Sealing of concrete surface is done by increasing the applied quantity of an impregnation agent, which forms a film, through the choice of suitable resins. Given below are the plastics which are usually used as sealers for concrete surface:

  1. Epoxy resins (EP)
  2. Polyurethane resins (PU)
  3. Unsaturated polyester resins (UP)
  4. Polymethylmetacrylate resins (PMMA)

Sealers can also be used as a primer for coatings.


Coatings give additional protection to concrete surface unlike the sealers. You must consider the fact that coatings, as compared to sealers, have more resistance to the dissemination of the internal moisture. Two types of coating can be used, thin coating and a thick coating.

Thin coatings tend to contour any unevenness of the concrete surface. Thick coatings are used to form as much as possible on a plain surface with certain amount of thickness of 1 mm or larger. Therefore, a thick coating will give you smoothness to any unevenness of the surface.
